PARENT VOLUNTEER
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
As in many Christian schools, VCA teachers have a wide range of responsibilities. Through your participation in our Volunteer Program, you will provide assistance to the faculty, freeing them up to develop creative programs using their God-given vision, as well as create an atmosphere of cooperation between the family and the school. It is mandatory for parents to volunteer 12 service hours per family for each school year. This volunteer service must be educationally oriented, and is exclusive of any sports/cheerleading commitments.
Parents will sign up for opportunities that fit their schedule, skills and desires at the beginning of the school year with the child’s teacher(s). You may work with multiple teachers or areas, and complete your hours as quickly as works within your schedule, as long as all 12 hours are complete by the end of the school year. Should you work for multiple teachers or areas, you will need to advise the teacher whom you completed the most hours with of any hours served elsewhere in the school by presenting them with a Completion Certificate from the area worked. After your hours are completed, the teacher will turn in your Completion Certificate showing the 24 hours served to the School Office. The VCA administration and teachers are looking forward to a greater parental presence at VCA. Through this partnership, we will better achieve the plans the Lord has for our school and our students.
